Illegal immigrants from Eritrea washing themselves in the only available public running water tap in the city of Calais, France. This is the only tap that migrants can use for washing clothes, dishes and themselves. Calais is a town on the edge of the narrowest point in the English Channel. The town is a gathering point for illegal immigrants from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Eritrea and Somalia trying to cross from France to UK. In 2008 Border and Immigration Agency searched over one million lorries and prevented about 18000 attempts by illegal immigrants to cross the channel into UK.
